One Litre EcoBoost Fiesta Provides Gallons of performance

Posted: January 30, 2013

It’s got style. It’s got performance. It’s got fuel efficiency. It’s the all-new EcoBoost Fiesta and it’s gentle on your pocket as well. But before we get all gaga about the car itself, let’s look at what exactly EcoBoost is.[hr margin=”top | bottom | top-bottom” dashed=”yes”]

What Is EcoBoost?

Ford Ecoboost Engine

EcoBoost is revolutionary Ford technology that maximises fuel efficiency without compromising power and performance. So revolutionary in fact that journalists from 36 counties have just voted it Engine of the Year.[hr margin=”bottom | top-bottom” dashed=”yes”]From an economy point of view the EcoBoost Fiesta sips a next-to-nothing 4,2 litres per 100 kilometres on a combined cycle. You’d be excused for thinking that at this rate the power would be compromised – but quite the opposite in fact.[break]While the 1.0-litre EcoBoost ensures efficiency, it offers the kind of performance that rivals larger displacement engines. With 92kW and 170Nm on offer the 1.0-litre EcoBoost delivers more power for its size than even some premium cars!![break] [hr margin=”top | bottom | top-bottom” dashed=”yes”]

What other value for money features have Ford introduced?

For starters, it comes equipped with Auto Stop-Start. This is where Smart Regenerating Charging kicks in by selectively engaging the alternator and charging the battery while the vehicle is coasting and braking. The result is much reduced engine wear and tear.[break]

And for those of you who can’t go without your hi-tech, here’s what Ford Marketing Manager, Gavin Golightly has to say:ecoboost stop start
“This car was built for the digital generation. With Bluetooth connectivity and MP3 capabilities, tech-savvy people who use social media to be constantly connected with the world around them won’t be slowed down when they get in this car.”

It has the eye-catching trapezoidal front grille bracketed by laser-cut headlamps with daytime running lamps (on some models) that use LED technology and a power-dome bonnet design. And the colour range is enormous, including new Copper Pulse, Hot Magenta and Candy Blue. [/span] [span columns=”4″] Step inside the car and you get the same sense of “I want it!” The upper instrument panel flows to the lower centre console. It has a high-gloss finish for which is replicated in door panels. It has power switches and additional storage panels. [/span] [/section][break] All told, this little beauty has it all. And then some.
