Expanding on its already impressive range of driver-assistance features and technology, the Ford Motor Company is adding a range of new technologies to make parking less stressful, help drivers avoid collisions, and warn drivers against wrong-way driving.
“Driver-assist technologies help us all be better drivers because they enhance our ability to see and sense the road around us,” said Scott Lindstrom, Driver-Assist and Active Safety Manager at Ford.
As part of its commitment to triple investment in new driver-assist technology, Ford is developing the following systems:
- Cross-traffic alerts with braking technology, which will help lower stress when parking by detecting objects about to pass behind the car. Should the driver not respond to alerts, automatic braking will stop the car.
- Systems to avoid high-speed collisions by steering around other vehicles.
- Systems that warn drivers when travelling the wrong direction against traffic.
- Spot lighting technology that detects and highlights potential hazards like pedestrians, cyclists and animals.
At Eagle Ford, we are excited about the strides being made by Ford in pushing the boundaries of driver-assist technology, making it safer and more enjoyable to drive a Ford. If you like to benefit from cutting-edge safety features already present in Fords, contact us today!
