René recently won Ford South Africa’s New Vehicle Sales Manager of the Year award, for the second successive year. It’s an accomplishment which we at Eagle Ford are incredibly proud of. Here, René gives us a brief introduction as to what makes her tick.
Q: What does winning your award mean to you?
A: I am very proud of my award, winning it 2 years in a row, which is a massive honour. I love being the best of the best. None of this, however, would be possible without the support of my sales team and directors.
Q: What has been the biggest change in the needs of the customer in the last 5 years?
A: Customers want to be your priority and to feel very special. They expect a fast and effortless experience – I still prefer to call customers but today customers often prefer emails and WhatsApp, which is something I am still getting used too.
Q: What is your primary focus in keeping a customer happy?
A: Constantly keep in touch with the customer, updating them on progress for their sale. Under promise, over deliver and surprise the customer with great service.
Q: What 3 tips would you give to a customer when searching for their ideal car?
A: 1. Buy from somebody you trust 2. Make sure it can fit your budget in the long term 3. Ensure your choice of vehicle has all the features you require and tick most, if not all of, the boxes. When you are spending a lot of money monthly and your choice does not make you happy, it will become a problem.
Q: If you could pick a Ford from the past, which is your favourite and why?
A: I love the Ford Fiesta – always have, always will… they are sexy, comfortable, quick and fun to drive with amazing resale value.
