Looks, Performance and Driving Pleasure – Introducing the New Ford Focus

Posted: May 12, 2015

The new Ford Focus is here! It features a completely redesigned interior with a bold new exterior, matching the bold new face of Ford. Not content with being No. 1, Ford made the Focus even better than before with improved driver assistance and fuel economy.

Available with the award-winning 1.0 EcoBoost and the new 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol engines, the new Focus is more powerful, yet surprisingly fuel-efficient. What does this mean for you? The new Focus features a much improved driving experience.

Ford has gone for a more emotive appearance in the new Focus. They have lowered and widened the stance, also adding a new bonnet, front fascia and grille, creating a strong, bold look with a Deep Impact Blue exterior colour. The new Focus is available in four and five-door guises, enabling you to choose a model that meets your needs.

In response to customer feedback, the new Focus has a cleaner, more modern and intuitive layout with fewer controls and switches. The simplicity of the interior creates a clear visual connection between key components. Thicker carpets and side window glass, along with better engine bay insulation, make for an improved interior quietness. All this contributes to a more pleasurable drive.

Have trouble parking? No problem! The new Focus offers a range of features to assist you in parking. New, hands-free technology, Perpendicular Parking, assists drivers when reversing into spaces next to other vehicles.

Ford has included two additional ultrasonic sensors to the rear of the new Focus, adding new technology to aid drivers when exiting parking spaces. Cross Traffic Alert warns drivers when approaching cars are about to cross behind them while they’re reversing out of spaces. Park-out Assist aids drivers when exiting parallel parking spaces.

Other features assisting drivers include:

  • The improved Active City Stop, a collision avoidance system.
  • Active Braking, assisting drivers at high speeds by warning the driver and applying braking when required.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control technology with Distance Indication.

The new Focus is now available with the 92kW 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine, winner of the International Engine of the Year three years in a row (2012 – 2014). It is also available with the new, fuel-efficient 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol engine that delivers 132kW of power and 240Nm of torque. Currently, both engines make use of a six-speed manual transmission, however, an automatic model will be available with the 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine later in the year. The entire range offers improved fuel efficiency of up to 19% and a notable reduction in CO2 emissions.
