Bolder, Smarter, More Adventurous – Introducing the New Ford Ranger Wildtrak

Posted: June 24, 2015

Ford recently introduced the all-new Ford Ranger Wildtrak to the world. This feat of engineering will only arrive in South Africa in October, but we’re already excited and counting the days until then.

The Wildtrak comes packed with a powerful 3.2-litre Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine, dishing out 147 kW of power and 470 Nm of torque. It also features a range of Ford’s latest smart technologies and safety features.

Along with the impressive power, Ford has taken its time to improve the appearance of the Wildtrak with a tough yet sophisticated design which feels at home cruising in the city and trekking through the bush.

The modern, sporty interior features a dual-TFT instrument cluster, which is housed on a horizontal beam spanning the width of the interior. The eight-inch touchscreen and air condition register with soft-touch instrument panel top reflect the Wildtrak’s premium quality without compromising its tough personality.

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak carries a range of cutting-edge technologies that aid the driver and assists in staying connected and in control. This includes SYNC 2, Ford’s latest generation connectivity system, which allows the driver to control everything from in-car entertainment to climate control and the navigation system. A 240-volt power socket can be used to power or charge smartphones, tablets and even laptops.

Safety technology in the Ford Ranger Wildtrak includes:

  • Lane Keeping Alert and Lane Keeping Aid
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Forward Alert
  • Front and Rear Park Assist
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
  • Electronic Stability Programme
  • Driver Impairment Monitor
  • Emergency Assistance
  • Hill Launch Assist
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Adaptive Load Control
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • Emergency Brake Assistance

Making driving more fun, the 4×4 models of the Wildtrak can easily switch between 4×2 and 4×4 modes at high speeds with a knob on the centre console, thanks to its robust electronically controlled transfer case.

The robust, tough and sophisticated Ford Ranger Wildtrak will only be available in South Africa from October this year, but get down to Eagle Ford to check out other amazing Ford models we have on offer!
