Figo and Ikon Recall Q & A

What is the issue?

Certain Ikon vehicles, built between August 9, 2004 and March 24, 2012, and certain Figo vehicles, built between January 13, 2009 and March 24, 2012, are fitted with a power assisted steering hose which may split, resulting in a power steering fluid leak.


Which engines are affected?

The 1.4 petrol and 1.6 petrol engines in the Ikon, and the 1.4 petrol engine in the Figo.


What is Eagle Ford doing about it?

Ford is proactively recalling the vehicles to correct the issue. Dealers will replace the high pressure power steering assist hose on all affected vehicles.

What should concerned customers do?

Affected customers should book their vehicles into Eagle Ford to replace the affected hose. However in the meantime, owners should watch for any sign of a power steering hose leak from their vehicle. If they notice a leak they should contact their dealer to have their vehicle inspected. Signs of a leak include moisture on the engine cover, a pool of fluid on the floor under the engine or loss of power assistance.
